Stanislav Szukalski - Mermaid
Stanislav Szukalaski was borin in Poland around 1893 and was recognized early as a great artist between the great world wars. However, much of his early work was lost to the invasion and he fled to the US and settled in Los Angeles in relative obscurity. Apparently he was not Mr. Charming and so was not well received in traditional art communities at the time. Stan the man was wicked with technical abilities, creative potential, and smarts. He tought himself english by reading National Geographic and created some of the most inspiring sculpture of the last century but never climbed to real fame. His artistic potential cut by a world in conflict but we are still nurtured by his touch.
