This is a Mural I started yesterday at a house in Jamestown, CO. Today, I'm still working with backgrounds and thin varnishes but beginning to build into something. The stream running through the middle should be the tricky part but the efforts pay off with things like this. I'm looking forward to adding the color of the fall aspens and pine trees around the sides.
Knowledge
1. I use color print outs of landscapes to have as color gauges and the original sketch I made for composition and tone.
2. I use orderless mineral spirits to thin my oil paints. Its great for reducing dry time and creating thin varnishes.
